Have a party! Solve a crime!
In 2005, Specialty Board Games launched the Nancy Drew Young Detective Mystery Party Game, “One Step Ahead.” Based upon the cover art, I believe it was most likely styled after the Nancy Drew Girl Detective series, and possibly had original plans to become a series itself; the game was numbered as Mystery #1. However, I have not come across any others.
You’ve followed Nancy Drew’s many adventures, now is your chance to be part of the mystery!
The Nancy Drew Mystery Party Game has all the ingredients of an unforgettable event, including invitations, an easy-to-follow parents’ guide and posters to identify game-play locations for quick and easy set-up. A CD narrated by Nancy instructs players how to work together to find and interpret clues around the house, on the net at
www.playnancydrew.com [defunct] or by calling a toll-free number.
You and your guests take on the roles of amateur detectives and work as a team to help Nancy solve her latest mystery. To do this you will set the stage for a visit to River Heights where you will collect clues from various locations including the scene of the crime, Lucia’s Psychic Shop, the CyberCafé and Bookstore, and the River Heights Police Stations – all in the comfrot of your own home.
Game set up and party planning are made easy with the inclusion of invitations, loot bags, and a detailed host’s guide – everything you need to set the stage.
- 8 Invitations and envelopes
- 8 Loot bags
- Narrated CD
- 5 posters of locations in River Heights
- Map of River Heights and surrounding area
- 8 Sleuth’s notepads
- Envelope containing clues
- Mug shots of 3 suspects
- Web and phone clues
Welcome to the Nancy Drew Party Game! This case is called One Step Ahead. Players of the game become Nancy’s assistants and help her solve a crime that just occurred at Mrs. Mahoney’s house. Your home becomes the town of River Heights and players move from location to location gathering evidence and recording it in their detective notebooks.
To solve this crime, the players must answer the following questions:
Who is the thief?PlayNancyDrew.com
Where did he hide his loot?
Where will he hit next?
What’s next in his list of things to steal?
A great party game for detectives of all ages!
